For the first time ever among K-pop boy groups, the global sensation BTS has crossed a massive milestone on YouTube, as their hit music video ‘Dynamite’ has now surpassed 2 billion views.

The video, released on August 21, 2020. And, it reached this historic landmark on September 4, 2025. It took the band just over five years to achieve this feat.

‘Dynamite’ is special for many reasons, as it is first song of BTS entirely in English. Written by David Stewart and Jessica Agombar, and produced by Stewart, the song is a mix of disco-pop, funk, soul, and bubblegum pop.

In its first week, the song sold 265,000 downloads, the biggest pure sales week since Taylor Swift’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ in 2017.

‘Dynamite’ also earned BTS their first Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
